This cardigan belonged to my grandmother. Many years ago, it was borrowed by my mother and then borrowed (and well, kept) by me. Sometime in highschool I deemed the tie unfashionable...because an old shawl collared sweater was otherwise at the height of fashion for 16 year old girls at the time?!?!? I don't know, but I decided I didn't like it and probably just tossed it or otherwise lost it, in short-sighted teenaged fashion. Now I vaguley feel like perhaps tied sweaters are in fashion? I don't know, I'm usually 3 or 4 years behind on these things, and even then it's just to recognise what others may have been wearing, not necissarily to wear it myself. But I do feel like I've been seeing sweaters of this type somewhat recently. Either way, I've decided that *I* like it and since that's my number one deciding factor in this sort of thing, well there you go.
The yarn for the sash was leftover from Aziel's sweater. I thought a bit of color might be fun. I did not plan to felt it, but at some point it ended up in the wash and well, there is no unfelting it now. A little bit of the attractiveness of the ribbed pattern is lost, but really I don't think it's a big deal. It works just fine either way...though it it perhaps a bit short at the moment. I think that issue will be resolve on it's own, in good time.
A little note: you may notice that I slightly edited my post two posts ago. For those of you who are laughing at me right now, do feel free to continue, goodness knows that I am laughing at myself! I spotted that little faux pas while looking back at pictures of my cutie. Suffice it to say, my head was in phonetically spelling out a sweet toddler mispronounciation, which really has nothing to do with :ahem: bodily fluids of any sort :ahem:. Moving on...
