Now that my father has officially celebrated his birthday I can post pictures of the socks I made him without risk of spoiling anything.
These were made from a Peace Fleece pattern. This is the first pair of socks I've ever knitted and by far the most complicated color pattern. I believe there were 14 different colored yarns used when all was said and done. It made from some interesting knitting trying to keep all of the balls of yarn from getting tangled. I think that working in all of the yarn ends took just as long as the knitting, if not longer. I'm getting better about not being so whiny about finish work. I really don't like all the finish work that goes into a project, it's the knitting that I like, but over the last couple of months I've been making it a practice to work in all of my ends a
nd finish up as soon as the knitting in done and it's getting to be far less annoying to me. I'm trying to be more thoughtful when finishing my work. I think this project was good practice for me. I really had to concentrate on finishing them and I think it affected the outcome just as much as the quality of the knitting.I think they turned out alright over-all. Thankfully they fit! I was totally guessing when it came to the sizing. I do think that I worked the upper part of the sock with the pattern a bit too tightly. Next time I work such a complicated pattern I'll know to be more aware of that. It was a pretty s
atisfying project. I think I'll be making more socks in the future.
