What's Gray and Blue and Moose All Over??

This goofy boy of mine, of course!

Ah, I'm just jumping all over the place with posts these days! I still have several Christmas gifts to talk about, and lots of other stuff too, but the general course of the blog right now is dependent on what I have pictures of. And I'm currently getting pictures of...whatever happens to be in front of me, when I happen to have my camera. Thus, there is no real rhyme or reason, nor any sort of fidelity to the chronological sequence of events.

This vest was one of Iain's birthday presents (I was actually finishing up the embroidery while in early labor the evening before). Remember those blue and gray organic fleeces that I said would be making an appearance again at some point? Well, here they are!

I actually made the pants several months ago. In a scene similar to the frantic sunbonnet, I whipped these up after Iain came in from playing, shortly before we needed to leave for a dentists appointment, completely covered in mud, only to inform me that he had no other pants clean. There wasn't enough time to wash and dry a load of laundry, and so he got these. I based them off of a favorite pair of pants (dug out of the hamper, of course).

The vest pattern came from the Ottobre kid's Winter 6/2007. My first ever Ottobre pattern....but there will be more. Oh yes, there will. The moose was of my own design.

I'm finally starting to feel like I've justified the expense of that box of fabric. To date I've used it to make the above vest and pants, a sweatsuit for Galen, a sweatshirt for Elijah, a sleeper and hat for Màiri (and the cuffs for those booties), a set of long-johns for Galen, a shirt for Màiri, a set of sheets for the co-sleeper, and Iain's Christmas moose (there was a cone of yarn in the box as well). All organic and all for $130. And I still have lots more fabric and yarn to play with. Not bad.

Are you just loving Ottobre? My oldest is a boy and I was so disappointed that not only are there not many cute boys clothes on the racks but the patterns I found are all similar to what's on the racks. And then I discovered Ottobre. I'm totally hooked :) The outfit is adorable, btw!
