Because, as it turns out, I really am *that* mother. You know, the one who makes matching pajamas for her kids...
But my kids actually love matching clothes. In fact they will often times coordinate their outfits in the morning, or before going to bed at night.
I didn't actually make Iain and Elijah's shirts. I had ever intention of making them shirts to go with the pants (they were going to be made out of a sky blue and cream flecked organic fabric with navy blue sleeves and blue jay appliqués), but my sewing machine gave out before I had a chance.
I came close to finishing Galen's shirt. And from a distance it looks done, but if you were to look at it closely you would be able to see the one small thing that was left undone. There is no stitching around the button holes. Which is something that I really should remedy now that I've finally, finally got my sewing machine back from the shop (the shop being a sweet little old man a couple of towns over).
I've been in the midst of a love affair with my machine since it's return. Sadly, our affairs have been frequently interrupted, so I have very little to show for it. Hopefully soon.

Very nice stitching Mama!
Beautiful! I was wondering if you live in CT also? If so, I'd love to get together...
I love the blue jay pattern! I am also enjoying reading your blog. Can I ask where you bought the fabric? My boys and I love watching the birds and we always have Blue Jays.
The fabric came from my favorite little fabric store. It's such a gem! They always have the most lovely things. Unfortunately, even they are out of it at this point (I spotted this back in July and just knew it had to be for holiday pjs). I don't know where you could get any of it. Sorry!
