Kim and Ncole both chided me for not sharing the fiber bounty. All I can say in my defense is that they are for surprises guys! You're all gonna get me in trouble...you've got me out trying to take pictures behind peoples backs and makin' sure no ones in the room when I'm uploading photos and being all sneaky and stuff...
While it was a rather big shopping trip (for me anyway), it really isn't anything all that interesting. Not like those beautiful, dainty, fabulously feminine, bird prints I came across....and didn't come home with....and haven't stopped dreaming about and coveting and lusting after since...why didn't I just get myself a little bit, just a little? Half a yard at $4.25 a piece....but no, I was spending too much already....and it wasn't what I went there for...and the only reason I would buy them would be to make them into something for me to enjoy....frivolous...with their sweet, sweet, soft colors and charming coordinating fabrics. No, I have nothing to share like that.
But it's still all good stuff...
Including some birds of a different sort,
destined to be holiday pajamas...
A sneak peak at Iain's future quilt...
and the binding for Elijah's quilt...
for Halloween...
And, in the interest of full disclosure (I don't want to be accused of holding back here!)...
blue and gray felt, thread, natural muslin, chocolate brown ribbon, batting, stone blue binding, beige lace, and a marking pencil rounded out the trip.
Then there are the fabrics that the boys bought. Piggy banks were raided before our trip and the kidlets had a bit of shopping excursion, before being whisked away to the park by Steve, while I set to my top secret mission. They are, uhm, interesting, but, uh, perhaps in a different way....
These are for bedding for the bunk beds that Iain plans on building for Elijah's and his dolls...
And these are for Christmas presents...
The stripes belong to Mr. Elijah Rain, and I'm told it's to be coupled with a sweet bunny print from my stash, in the form of a bag.

Well, thank you for your sneaky fabric pictures and the full disclosure! I feel much better now ;) Ahhh, yes! bird prints, oh how I love them and on fabric even more wonderful! I'm always a sucker for batik prints too. What a good Mama letting your little ones pick out the fabric of their choice! (Go back and get just a little of the sweet bird fabric you are wishing for!)
See, that's better isn't it? You can't keep the fabric under wraps from us nosy blog friends!
Melody - I'm visiting from the Christopherus forum and just wanted to say how inspired I am by you and how you're striving to live your best life despite all your challenges - I know how lonely it can be to be isolated, and I just wanted you to know that I wish you well - thanks for sharing your story...
Penny
ps: the fabric is pretty sweet too :)
Oh, I love the PJ fabric- the birds are so sweet! I've got my eye out for some good flannel pj prints for the same purpose but haven't found any yet. Great stash you are building there!
