Funny little bunnies...

We've come to the end of a very pleasant, but tiring, weekend full of visiting with family and old friends. Thursday evening and all day Friday were spent visiting and site-seeing with my parents and sisters. Then on Saturday we had a little Easter celebration. We did the kids Easter baskets and Me-mom and Pop-pop brought all kinds of presents as well.

I finished up the little rag bunnies in time for our celebrations and they were a big hit. The little bunnies are all tucked into bed with my little bunnies at this very moment. I had ordered some spring themed collage making supplies for the older boys, but they didn't come in time. Oh well, it will be a nice surprise whenever they do show up. I've had a plan for a while now to get them mandala coloring books for their Easter baskets.

We don't usually "do" coloring books, in fact I've never bought one for any of the children before. I greatly prefer for them to create art from within themselves. The mandala coloring books fascinate me though. I've really been drawn to them, *I* want to color in them!! I also thought that they might be of some benefit to my little one with visual-spacial issues. When I looked into it further I found that they were like $20, for a coloring book! My goodness. After some searching on-line I found that there are several great sites with free mandala coloring pages to print! So I picked out a bunch of them and had Steve print them out at the office, and yes, I did have him print some for me too! I cut them all out and my mom and I made folders with pretty spring pictures on them as a way of storing them. Some organic jelly beans (you buy something one year, man...and suddenly it's expected every year...), and little slices of lara bars all wrapped up in pretty tissue paper, rounded out the big boys' basket treats. In addition to his bunny, Galen got the board book version of "Goodnight Moon" and two dates (pitted of course) in his basket. At least no one has told him about the jelly beans yet...

Me-mom and Pop-pop brought all kinds of goodies to spoil their grandbabies with...garden tools, a rainbow stacking game, musical instruments, and a toy with wooden beads. Galen's favorite gift was his new klean kanteen sippy! Thanks Mom!!! We are both thrilled with it!

Sunday morning brought our usual Spanish lessons followed by an egg hunt with friends. It was so lovely. This egg hunt was much better then the one we attended for the Equinox. There were just far too many kids at the other one, many of them much older. By the time we got our three guys out the door, most of the eggs had already been scooped up. The ritual and socializing were just fabulous, but I think the boys were still rather disappointed. Sunday's egg hunt was just the thing. Just our three boys and one of their dearest friends out hunting about and getting covered in mud in the fields of our friends' beautiful organic flower farm. It was so, so good to see them. They moved away from us almost a year ago and we don't get to see them nearly often enough. I got to hold their sweet tiny daughter for a few moments. Galen was very displeased with that! And we came home with honey from their hives and syrup from their trees (not to mention some much needed green building supplies). Such a treat! It was like getting my own Easter basket.

Oh, and Iain was there too, having a great time along with everyone else, I promise! He just happened to be blinking in all of the pictures!
