FOs and other things...

Listen to me, using the lingo... FOs are "finished objects" by the way.

I've been crazy preoccupied lately; worried about the kids, worried about Steve, worried about life. I have a bunch of emails I need to return, but my mind has just been elsewhere. If you are reading this and expecting something from me, please don't take it personally!

I'm not exactly depressed, mind you, just....something. Restless? Maybe?? I've got ten-thousand ideas floating around in this crazy brain of mind, they are all calling to me really strongly right now, and I just don't have the means for any of them. Moreover I don't have the attention span for them. These last few days I can't seem to get into groove and I find myself constantly laying things aside. I need to make some headway on something big. Something majorly, life-alteringly productive. I just don't know what.

I'm ready for spring. Our whole property is one big sheet of ice. The boys are loving up the last of the crunchy snow (they don't even need sleds anymore, just sit at the top of the hill and go) , but I'm looking forward to a warm weekend with lots of melting.

I felted the slippers some more. I'm still using my dad's camera and I can't seem do get good color accuracy with it.

You can't really tell from the pictures, but these are super fuzzy because of the mohair. The little guy that is getting these seems to be drawn to bright colors. I thought that the bright blue would suit him well. Between the fuzziness and bright color they look really fun to wear. I was actually really pleased with how they turned out. My boys are requesting pairs of their own, of course.

And here are little Rosa's Slippers

The picture doesn't show the color on these well.

Here is some of my progress on the Herringbone Sweater. I haven't really been able to get a good picture of this one. The color is all off and I can't really get the pattern to show.

I wasn't sure about using an ombre yarn for a patterned sweater. I wasn't sure if I would like the color changes in the pattern, and honestly I'm still not sure. It is very interesting looking. The stitch pattern is beautiful and Iain really likes it. This is going to be one HUGE sweater. The cut of it is real big to begin with and I sized up a bit so that he would get a lot of wear out of it. I'm thinking about shortening it, but I'm not sure how much the yarn will shrink with washing, so I'm kind of afraid to.

I'd really like to have this done in time for him to wear for Easter. We shall see. The back is currently 18.5". It's supposed to be 26" before you start any neck shaping. That's a big sweater.

Those slippers look OH-so-warm and cuddly! If I was a tiny little foot I'd want to wear them...

I'm getting ready to post and notice the first to comment was Heather...he he...I'm a Heather, too.

I really admire what you are doing to get a great home.

Those slippers are so sweet. I really want slippers for everyone this next year. Now that I'll have more time, I think I'll see if I can figure something out.

I found you on MDC. I just want to be another to say I would love to see some before and after pics.
