We had a long day. Gluten sucks. Towards the end everyone seemed to kind of get it together a bit. We all mellowed out some and just decided to take it easy with each other. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.
Galen cut his 8th, 9th and 10th teeth within the last three days. No wonder he's been having trouble falling asleep! Poor little guy. I ordered him one of those amber necklaces that are supposed to help with teething pain. It's his birthday gift from my in-laws (they sent money). I've wanted to get him one for ages, but could never justify the expense. I know he's going to love it. I got the shipping confirmation tonight. It's this one:
I actually really liked the dark infant one, as I thought it complemented his coloring, but I thought it probably made more sense to go with the toddler one. I hope it comes soon!
I finished seaming and embroidering Rosa's Slippers. I'm going to make a pair for her big brother and then felt them all along with Steve's Slippers. I'm trying to reduce the amount of time I have to spend felting down at the other house.
I cast on another project on Sunday night. Yes, another one. I'm a grown woman and if I wish to knit 50 or 60 things at once, that's my prerogative.
It's the Quinn bag by cogknition. I'm doing this as a part of the Mothering knit along.
I'm currently 5 repeats (60 rows) in on the cabled band at that top. I've never done a provisional cast on before. I'm not sure if I did it correctly, but I figure I can always fudge the grafting later on.
I'm probably going to be moving slowly on this project, while I work on other things. There was another KAL for a gorgeous sweater, that I really wanted to get in on. But even the cheapest of the cheap yarns was looking pricey for us right now. So this is a little treat just for me. Free pattern + yarn from stash= guilt free knitting. I really enjoy cabled knitting, but rarely make anything with cables because it's time consuming. This will be good practice. I'm not yet sure if I will be gifting this project or keeping it for myself.
This is the yarn I'm using:
